St. Louis, MO., United States (4E) – Planned Parenthood of St. Louis is still open after a judge issued a temporary stay Friday afternoon.
The ruling came the same day the facility’s license to perform abortions was to run out, leaving Missouri without a legal provider.
There is an investigation into “a large number of possible deficiencies,” state officials reported and only two of Planned Parenthood of St. Louis’ doctors agreed to be interviewed according to USA Today.
It would mark the first time since since the Supreme Court’s landmark Roe v. Wade decision in 1973 that a state wouldn’t offer legal abortion “care”.
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson last week signed a bill outlawing abortion after two months of pregnancy without exceptions for cases of rape or incest.
